Aunt Lydia

In my memory, Aunt Lydia (my dad's sister) was my most fun relative! It seemed to me that when my grandmother, who lived winters with Aunt Lydia and summers with us, came back and told stories of her winter, there was always much laughter, fun and family times involved; I always wished I lived closer to her so I could be part of it. I remember one time when she and Tom came to visit our cottage, Aunt Lydia spied the rope swing and immediately hopped on and asked us to give her a push! I think that's the way she approached life - willingly and with a smile. My dad was the serious one, but when we visited Aunt Lydia or she us, I saw a completely different side of him and I think she had that effect on many people. She made me feel loved and special.
